Robyn’s Online World – Maxis Spore Hero Event & Giveaway

Robyn and Taylor were amongst the few who were lucky enough to drop by Maxis for a special Spore Hero event.* During their time spent at the studios, Taylor was able to tour the building, meeting and greeting all of the game developers as well as spending some time with Spore Hero and Spore Hero Arena.

Robyn posted her blog entry at her site, sharing images from the event (marking the first pic of the Spore Hero intro screen), as well as the cool swag Taylor picked up.* Here’s a paragraph from her blog:

After a quick breakfast of bagels, muffins, and danishes the fun began. We were introduced to the Spore Hero game for the Nintendo Wii. Now I am already a little familiar with Spore because Taylor had already purchased the Spore Creature Creator for his PC, I have Spore on the iPhone, and (you know me) I did a little research when I knew I was going on this trip. Taylor and I were both amazed at Spore Hero for the Wii though – the graphics are wonderful and the controls are great. This was actually the first time Taylor and I have used a Wii since we do not have one at home. The Wii is really different than other video game systems because of the controls – you are using much more of your body than just your hands which is a nice change. We started by using the Creature Creator in the game to make our own custom Spore creatures. Taylor’s was called ZOMGBBQ. You can change all the different body parts and colors of the creatures as much as you like. The different parts all are used by the creatures to improve (or decrease) levels of power in certain areas. You can even name your creature. I love that Spore Hero allows this unlimited creativity in this way and I think that it makes it appeal to even more people since some of us are more creative than action oriented.
