    The Sims2 Stuff: Family Fun

Well I got off work early, and Open to Business just arrived at my door: No expansion pack yet announced, but in the game is an announcement for another add on package like the Holiday pack. This one states:

"A new collection of furnishings, clothing, decor, and accessories for your sims' lives!"

    • "Decorate kids' bedrooms with complete fantasy- and underwater-themed sets."
    • "Redesign the family room with upscale nautical furnishings
    • Dress your sims' children in adventurous costumes or clothe the whole family in matching outfits for a group outing."
    • "Get in on all the family fun with over 60 new items including castle beds, sun dresses, tropical wall-hangings, and more!"
    "Coming April 2006"

I just really don't know if I'm going to get the Family pack thing. I was really excited about the Holiday pack, and then I just didn't use it that much. We'll see...I'll probably be a sucker and buy it since I can't resist anything sims.

I always find it sooo annoying when EA does this! We are the hard core fans who purchased the original near the release. We payed $50 for TS2 and I've purchased all the expacks an now they say hey "all of you who bought TS2 original, you'll have to pay 40 bucks for these 60 extra items you can't find anywhere else. No new features, just more objects"

They did the same thing with Deluxe edition in TS1. Of course I broke down an bought it in the end. I still wish EA wouldn't do this anymore. It's another cheap way to sucker money out of us poor saps.

BAAAAA. We call ourselves sheep. As I said in another thread, if someone slaps "The Sims 2" on a box of garbage and tells me my Simmies need it, I buy it, end of story. I am sad and I need help.

Well, SBW, at least we know that they read our discussions and take our suggestions to heart. But, what about the family-centered enteractions? We wanted a Family-Fun EP with more interaction between parent and baby/child. :(

There are a few more things that kids can do in OFB that they couldn't do before, and I may discover more ... my favorite right now is "dance on bigger person's feet." I'm pretty sure that's new ...

Do you think they got the idea from us? That would be cool. I don't have any toddlers right now so I'm not sure if there are new things you can do with them, yet.

I had a horrible experience with the Holiday pack and Santa. I uninstalled it because it hosed my entire game and on top of that Santa would not leave my lots. Made me extremely wary of packs of "just stuff." I suspect they're not tested as thoroughly as they might be.

However, if it has things I want I may shell out for it. But only if it's just stuff, no new characters/interactions/what have you, and only after I've heard back from others on the result it had on their game.

Yeah, I always wait for other people's reactions to the EPs and packs, that's why I only just bought Nightlife in November and Uni about a month ago. And I also decided not to buy the Holiday Pack because of SBW's experience. It'll probably be months until I get OFB...or maybe until I find a good deal at Circuit City, like I did with Nightlife (it was only like $20, and everywhere else it was $35).
