Vote for The Sims! The Sims have been nominated for a spot in the Walk of Game. Please, vote and help it win!
You can also see the ranks on this page: http://vote.walkofgame.com/cgi-bin/metreon-walkofgame06/fan_stats.cgi
I voted. The Sims were winning, hand's down! I think we need to keep this thread and the link active and near the top for the month so we can all remember to vote. We can cast a vote each day for 30 days. BTW, what other games are y'all voting for? I'm definiatly voting for Tomb Raider. That was my obsession before the Sims.
Final Fantasy Resident Evil Everquest Sid Meier (I wasted years of my life on Civ 2) All other votes to The Sims and Will Wright.
At least Will Wright is leading! Lara isn't leading by much, luckily. I'm suprised FF and GTA are so behind! They're both very commendable series' in my books.
the poll sure likes to fluctuate. The Sims is leading and is ahead of FF by 15.3%. Lara is behind FF by 4.9%
Yay! Now this thread is impor---tant~~~! Keep on voting, everyone! That reminds me, Our election in New Zealand happened recently. Finally, no more politic shows! The only time you hear about them is dead-beat daytime chat shows and on talk-back radio stations, and even then they're usually being insulted.
Remember ya'll can vote every day, folks! Sims back on top again ... just! It'll be a close run thing methinks.
I'm like Rowanstaff...I love Civilization. I've spent untold hours of my life playing one version or another. I still play Sid Meier's old Colonization and enjoy Pirates. I'm counting the days until Civ4 is released. On the other hand, I'm old enough to remember how important Pac-Man was. I even owned an arcade version. I can't pass an old Space Invader without dropping in a few quarters. My Pong is boxed away in the basement. While I might vote for Will Wright due to all the games of his I've owned...I'm not sure I can vote for The Sims as the best game. To be honest, The Sims would have lost its appeal for me long ago without the sim community taking it to another level. I have fond memories of many of the games listed. I may have to use my vote to bump some of the oldies. Most of the younger players will never know how fantastic some of those were in their glory days.
Ah yeas. I would've spent the NL cash on Pirates if it had been on the shelf. I really loved the old Commodore 64 version as for Civ, I have 1, 2 & 3 and am looking forward to 4 coming out. I'm hoping that the new 3D mapping will mean that the world actually gets narrower toward the poles I can't play Colonization any more cos it was an MSDOS based thing that XP spits at like a hissy cat. I really used to love whupping the backsides of those pesky tory red-coats climbing out of their big ships and getting all uppity 'bout tea and taxes ... ooops. Off topic. My main vote still goes for the Sims precisely because it was so immediately accessible for modders and gamers to create and share content and gameplay (ie story telling etc.)
I am personally going to vote for the Sims every single day. Come on people!!!! At the moment Sims is in secnd place but only by 0.2%.
Yeah! We're just leading by 0.4 of a vote! And Final Fantasy seems to be creeping just behind the two leaders...
tied with Lara now. the other major game i voted for was Myst. i dont know who else here has played it, but that game is very interesting to say the least. my cousin was the one who got it. i remember at one point we stayed up all night trying to get through certain areas on there. like the underground labyrinth: at one point we got so lost we ended up going back to the beginning and did a massive map across a dozen sheets of paper. lol. then some time later i ended up trying out realmyst which is essentially a cosmetic upgrade from the original myst to a full 3d rpg. those who havent played it should really try it out.
Huh?!?!?! Where'd Everquest come from?! Now it's first!!! And Final Fantasy is in front as well... I should stop voting for it!!!
I always vote Everquest, Final Fantasy, The Sims, Resident Evil. Together these 4 franchises have taken a decade of my life away. However, I believe these fluctuations we see are the result of other fansites posting "OMG GO VOTE!!!111!!!" posts for their various gaomes. However, I believe the final winners will be tha games with most consistent votes. So keep plugging away and KEEP VOTING!
