What is the difference....? I'm wondering what is the difference between the Off Topic Forum and the General Chat Forum? Should ALL General Chat topics be sims related in some way? Which place would be the right place to post a getting to know you type thread, introducing myself a little better and asking other people to do the same?
One would be General and one would be offtopic (where offtopic would probably be something soooooooooo outlandish)
sooo... General would be like hey, how is everyone, my cat is eating my sock... and Off Topic would be like If the Martians Came would they be Dark or Light Green?
lol Josh! Outlandish???? Talking to me??? .. *lol* Well that makes me special if i'm "off topic".. Goes for anyone outside US then or??? To be "outlandish" hat is. Does the word really exist by the way?? Or are we creating a new language as well?? Most amusing...
"outlandish" means to be outrageous, very strange, unusual, off the wall, bizzarre, crazy etc. Yes, it's actually a real word. I guess originally it might have come from people thinking people from different cultures did things strangely, so they called it out-land-ish... I've gotten so used to the word I never even think about that.
hehe I didn't learn any new volcabulary for the SATs... I just read TONS of sci-fi and fantasy novels. You can still tell sometimes when I've learned a word from reading and not heard it used, I know what it means, I use it right, I just pronounce it ALL wrong!! But look, I got good trying to describe stuff.... I made up that definition....
And so we have more learning to do. Thanks for the clearing of outlandish, but what is SAT???? Sorry. I'm just swedish bunny with a minor brain. (hoppetihopp) *joke* Really There are loads of words that are not commonly used and you never really learn them, especially not in school. *sighes* So i'm gonna keep asking you guys until I really got it. ok? (And hopefully remembers it too)
ummm let's see if I remember, I think it stands for Scholastic Aptitude Test, in the US people take it as a test to be accepted into College after they graduate from 1-12 grade school.
SATs is a test you have to take in high school in USA. everyone 10th grader takes it, the higher test score the more likely you'll be accepted into a good college or university. i think thats right
hey, maybe you can teach us stuff too!! What's the word for "bunny" in Swedish?? I'm always quoting the line from Buffy, "I've got a theory, it could be bunnies." I should learn that in as MANY languages possible!
Sure in swedish that line will be: "Jag har en teori, det kan vara kaniner". one bunny/rabbit = kanin plural = kaniner hoppetihop
whoah, that's scary I could almost READ that without the translating!! I see/guess "I have one theory, that can truth/reality/being -------------" the word for bunnies I would NEVER have guessed if you hadn't told me.
oh my goodness I just realized that my friend using the nickname Kanin for his bunny character is a word play!!! hahahahahehehehehe!!!! cool!!! I'm learning ALL the time!
Hey if you do any translating "official" for the site I think it would be cool to translate the words for all the Objects and Downloads people would be looking for on websites where they don't speak the language!! I found a lot of cool stuff on German sites but I had to learn what everything was the hard way, and guess on some.... I'd want to learn Object, Skin, Man, Woman, Child, Doors Windows, Stairs, Chairs, Sofas, Tables, Beds... you get the idea... oh and Plumbing and Toilet are always good words to know too!!
