DEFCON 18 concluded this evening after a record breaking year. Early estimates project this years attendance to be at least ten thousand, if not more. These ten thousand plus attendees crowded into the Rivieria during the last four days crowding hallways and restrooms alike, packing conference rooms, and parties.
During the closing ceremony for DEFCON 18, founder Jeff Moss (Dark Tangent) announced that DEFCON will be moving on to the Rio. Given the size of this year’s attendee population, the hope is that the much added space will give attendees additional space to attend lectures as well as move between sessions.
The Rio Hotel and Casino is located off the Las Vegas strip. The hotel opened in 1990 and currently is currently owned by Harrah’s Entertainment.
