Please help me i have bon voyage on my computer. when my sims are at the beach they want to build a sand castle or dig for treasure. but when i click on the beach, it doesnt give me that option. how do i get them to do these things?
For starters make sure any hacks or mods you may have are Bon Voyage compliant. Also are you clicking right down beside the water's edge? You've probably got about a 4 - 5 (maybe more) square wide area you can do this in.
Have you patched the game? http://thesims2.ea.com/update/getpatch.php?appVersion=1.10&languageCode= are you using any hacks? if you are try using Simwardrobe's hack conflict detector. http://208.109.175.73/Sims_2_HCDU.htm If all fails could you please post a copy of your dxdiag into your next reply like this. Click the start button and then click run , type in dxdiag and copy and paste the two paragraphs like what I've pasted from my system. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 4/28/2008, 13:38:15 Machine name: SWMGAMINGMONSTE Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: NVIDIA System Model: NFORCE 680i SLI BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU X6800 @ 2.93GHz (2 CPUs) Memory: 2046MB RAM Page File: 588MB used, 4373MB available Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.2180 32bit Unicode --------------- Display Devices --------------- Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX Manufacturer: NVIDIA Chip type: GeForce 9800 GTX DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0612&SUBSYS_23711682&REV_A2 Display Memory: 512.0 MB Current Mode: 1920 x 1200 (32 bit) (60Hz) Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor Monitor Max Res: 1600,1200 Driver Name: nv4_disp.dll Driver Version: 6.14.0011.7474 (English) DDI Version: 9 (or higher) Driver Attributes: Final Retail Driver Date/Size: 3/24/2008 19:52:00, 5974528 bytes
Hi! I had the same problem when using an old Insimenator. After installing the one compatible with Bon Voyage, everything got back to normall. I suggest to remove all hacks and then make a test, if it works, then most probably one of those hacks is generating the problem. Good luck!
ok dumb moments here. what is a hack? the stuff i download from the computer? I uninstalled all of the sims 2 off my computer but I havent tried it yet. i havent even downloaded the patches back on yet. i was wondering if that was my problem cause when they are at home and i click on the grass one of the choices if to find treasure. but im gonna try again when i send them on vacation. thanks for everyones help. i really appreciate it.
There are various kinds of hacks which are something someone has made to change the way a maxis object or action operates. For instance one of the more popular is the phone hack which changes the way the phone acts in our sim's households. it can stop certain things from happening or add more actions to the phone that didn't come with the game.
