You can always create another user account on your computer and play the game on it and try Simpe on the other account so you don't mess up any...
You don't need to run the EADM spyware program (in my opinion that's what I think it is) to install your patches. Just go over to Jud's website...

You might try using 7-zip to open the folder. Right mouse click it and then click open archive. All the files should be there to copy and paste...

The same mod is available over at Mod The Sims and could possibly have been updated for Ambitions too.
mods like what ? I would say no but Mod The Sims would be the place for mods and or custom cars like the ones Fresh-Prince makes.

Try going into your keypad settings under control panel and turning them down a bit.

I would be highly surprised if it didn't turn out to be another buggy mess like all the others.

A lot of times (or so I've heard) once the mailbox has become messed up like that it normally stays that way and you normally have to scrap the lot.
I think you'd be better off going with a usb zip stick at least you'd be able to delete anything off of it you suddenly didn't want anymore...
Have you messed with the mailbox by chance ? (moved it or used any custom recolors of the mailbox)? You may have to end up moving them off the lot...
