I know what you mean, and I felt exactly the same way. When I first got my Mac I thought to myself, "This is nice and all, but did I really just spend all that money on this?" Then I turned on the PC to play TS2, and the first thing I saw was an error message, and I thought, "What's this?!" That was my lightbulb moment. Suffice it to say, it really is that simple. But if you prefer the PC that's ok too! To each his own.
I know what you mean too . . . I am on my first Mac, and I was worried at first, but everything on it makes perfect sense, and all of the applications work together really well. I actually had a lot of fun learning all of the extra little tricks that a mac does . . . if you have an apple store nearby you could always go in and test drive one . . .
