hahahaha I've read the "diary of a cat" email going around and it was hysterical!

Cats own you - you can own a dog (generally). I don't know about horses.

Animal lovers should perhaps not read this:

Afreind of mine had the same problem. Fed him weight gain powder, apetite enhancer and a pound of lard every day and eventually cut out the drugs and increased the food. The cat is now a blob that is occasionally mistaken for furniture by guests. Why he did this you might ask. The cats now too fat to jump!

oh dear! poor kitty! I'm working HARD not to let my 3 cats get too chubby! The vet says they tend to gain weight after being neutered and I'm doing an ok job keeping their weight down... but they mew and carry on like no one EVER feeds them so they try to make us feel guilty when we don't give them extra food! Silly kitties! :whitekitty:

I know, I had a cat (ironically named Garfield!) who was an absolute blob. I mean, maybe i was feeding him too much, but how can you resist that face! I definitely think my neighbours were feeding him though.
It got to the stage where, if he sat on you, he could seriously threaten to flatten you if you didn't give him that chicken!

Please see a poem I have just posted (not mine) in the section lower down. Someone (I can't quite remember who) called cats a small masterpiece. Please don't let them get too fat - you know it is bad for you, and it does just the same to a cat.

But the cat doesn't. Neither does he honestly care (well, actually, I'm fairly sure he does, but only in the sense of "I've scored now, nothing but sleeping and growing in girth for the rest of my days". I'm quite fond of cats, I'm a naturally nice person, so i like to think they can be selfish for me. They look fairly nice and can be quite affectionate(usually when they want something)but they're also conniving and incredibly self-centred.
    They know what they're doing.

haha "affectionate when they want something" and "conniving and self centered" is a GREAT description for cats! My cats are like that, especially the "attack kitty" Ember... she comes up purring and rubbing on you and then nipping and BITING at you when she wants to be fed! :whitekitty:

I am told that the nipping and biting is affection, but it still hurts. Dogs are much bettr than cats as pets.
A Springer Spaniel was just voted the bravest dog in the world. My Springer Spaniel said he could be just as brave but has never been given the chance. He looks exactly like the bravest dog in the world - ie the official one.

I hadn't heard about the bravest dog in the world vote, I'll have to tell my friend about that. And that's neat your dog looks like him! :D

As long as it's not a vicious attack it's a show of affection. I wouldnt mind something like that every once in a while.
