    Well, when I was there (in the 80s as well as the late 70s), it was indeed beautiful on the coast. I drove down from Greensboro, NC (which is in the center of NC, similar to how Columbus is the center of SC) to Myrtle Beach. And the time I went to Charleston, I found it to be lovely as well.

    Central SC, however, I wasn't too keen on.
