Even the trash compactors can get stinky. And the maid won't empty them. (Pretty cool shock, though. It doesn't always kill them.)

I'm so ashamed; my big family, the Ozs (Ozes? Ozzes?), just got a cockroach invasion because everyone was so busy changing diapers and getting bottles and *****ing and moaning and carrying on about how tired they are and hungry and bored and lonely they are, no one took out the garbage for days.

Sometimes I just feel right at home!

But you see I want them to die repairing something, otherwise I agree the trashcan is quite as useful as the trashmaster ... but it doesn't need repairing. I am doing my best to kill off the parents through an "accident" short of suicide or moving them out ... the dad spends an awful lot of time staring up at the sky watching those clouds, and at night he looks through the telescope almost constantly, abduction being an OK substitution for actually dying ... no luck so far, darnit.

I hate television in real life so it's the last thing I buy my sims, too ... though I've noticed the teenagers like it. However, flamingos are much cheaper. I try to have two or three in front of every house. At $12 apiece, a bargain.

Oh, a weird aside: the triplets invited Cyn over and even though the one who called her (Blanche) had a 0 relationship with her she came! Of course once she got there she found Blanche tres boring (Blanche has a problem playing nicely with others) so I had Francois play with her instead and they got on very nicely indeed.

Another weird thing: Mom is mad at Dad for flirting with a party guest at Francois' belated birthday party. As far as she's concerned their relationship is in the toilet. But when they went shopping for clothes she agreed to have public woohoo with him (finally figured out how that works). Yet when they got home she wouldn't sleep in the same bed! I had to let her sleep in Maude's.

    Those wacky sims.

If you want to get abducted you should look through it at around 2 in the morning, when everybody else is asleep. Another sim of mine was abducted but I decided to save this time. Try not to be abducted and you usually will be.

About the Mom and Dad thing, that happened to me once. Mom was caught making out with a man she was having an affair with. The Dad refused to get into the same bed but they Woohooed in the bed! He just wouldn't sleep with her but he would Woohoo. He uses her!!!! Dirty, dirty men!!!!! He's having an affair with the Mom as well.

But how do you Publicly Woohoo? I heard you needed to 'try on clothes' using a clothing rack and then while you're in the dressing room you click on the sim you love and you have an option of ask to join. After that, what do you do? I've never tried because I'm scared my sim will get rejected, but is that what you're supposed to do? Also, in Veronaville I don't know which shop is the clothing shop. Anyone know which one it is?

Hey, in message # 21 I wrote #####ing and some moderator changed it to *****ing! But my ears are burning over all this public woohoo talk... I've never tried it because I'm too tired.

Anyway. If you just wait, some dangerous electrical appliance will break down. I routinely have computers, televisions, stereos, and trash compactors bust up and need repair. Computers and compactors are quite dangerous to repair. So you can readily kill someone with low mechanical skill by having them try to fix it.

I started trying to drown one of my little old ladies, but I chickened out. It just seemed wrong. She was way struggling and I gave in and put the ladder back. Guess I'm just too right brain, eh Pescado?

I think the stereo is the most dangerous. It breaks the easiest to me, because you just keep it on for ages. Whenever I try to repair the stereo, my sim dies. One of them had 7 mechanical skill points! Don Lothario keeps turning it on and it always breaks. To kill sims, break a stereo!

I've also had Sims give up repairing something...has that ever happened to anyone else?

Don't worry, I only got the sims 2 last month. Chance cards are the events that happen during the job your sims have. If you want more help, you should go to the 'How do I' questions part of World Sims.

    babewithbrains_14 The Offtopic Queen!!!

(I could never kill a sim on purpose that I brought up with my love, care and attention - they're like my children!)

Well - seems a little strange. I started this thread out with about how cool it would be to read your sims' diary - and now it says about repairing goods and killing off sims! That's just sick, killing off poor defenceless sims! (shakes head sadly). You should be ashamed of yourselves.

I could. I don't tend to, but I'll do it if it suits my purposes. Still, I tend to have a somewhat low fatality rate for someone as maladjustedly antisocial as myself. Then again, maybe it's because I had enough opportunity to indulge in antisocial behaviors in my professional life, without having to carry it on as a requirement in video games where it is not really very rewarding. Now if becoming a vampire involved something more traditional, like, oh, say, bathing in the blood of a hundred virgins....

Which would be nigh on impossible taking coagulation into consideration... well at least in theory.

I've yet to kill off a Sim on purpose. Though with all the old people I have in my neighborhood now...I don't think I'd consider that.

Sims 1 though...after I got bored with it in between expansion packs, I made a graveyard with Sims I had randomly made. Teehee. Napoleon Bonaparte visiting my Sims in the middle of the night. :D

Compared to the original game (I was always killing those sims off ... I was utterly simicidal) I have been the model of restraint with TS2. I let one die quite early on just to see what happened and later I killed a couple of irritating townies (for the ghosts) but since then the only sim-deaths I've had have been thru old age and being eaten by a cow ... and I don't feed sims to it. I lost one of my teens and some other family's breadwinner when I forgot to block off access to the darn thing but that was accidental ...

I killed a sim I didn't like just to see if could do it. He used the energizer machine when he was only in the green. I also of course killed off the ghosts for my haunted house ... otherwise it wouldn't be haunted LOL. The other two who died were due to satellite and old age. Out of a town of 100 that's not too shabby a death rate.

But in general I don't kill them off on purpose ... by "accident," well, that's different.

The truth is right now I'm *gasp* bored with the Sims. I had them all living such perfect little lives that I wanted to see the dark side, like how they deal with being widowed/orphaned or having their spouses cheat. I want an alien abduction too ... the thing is I have somehow managed to end up with 6 kids in the same neighborhood that will be going through college at the same time ... why do I always do this to myself? I just really wanted those triplets. Maybe if they all rent a house together I can shuffle 'em through quickly. I'm looking forward to Nightlife. I'm hoping it will spice things up again.

Kopo, Delphine had a 25 on her short-term relationship with Marcel, they weren't even friends, although they were of course still married. I had her try on clothes and then I clicked on him. I'm pretty sure she would have rejected him, had it been the other way around. (He still likes her.) She also got a cool outfit because I just picked one at random and it looked really nice on her. :D
