Sounds like it doesn't it! LOL Josh, the few people I have on facebook I don't want knowing could care less about video games in general. They won't be visiting this site because I put that up on facebook over a year ago. Now if I just put it up today and it went into the live feed that is a different story, but I highly doubt someone is going to randomly go, hmmm...I should go visit this site now. hehe. And if they do, they do, but I doubt they will say anything anyway, so it doesn't matter.
Now why would I blackmail someone as sweet as Shana! Now you on the other hand obviously were thinking of blackmailing her! :ducks:
LOL Josh. What has she been doing? Learning karate apparently. Aydia is head down (as of last Wednesday anyway, she could have flipped back) and all the movement I feel is where her hands should be. She punches so hard that we're able to see her movements from the outside already! The midwife said we're having a very strong and active little girl. Even though her wallops make me sore, I'm loving it. It's so reassuring after having two losses early in pregnancy to be able to feel and see her movements on an almost constant basis. She's calmer in the mornings, she's going to be a night owl like her mama. Development wise, besides the strong arms, she was measuring a week ahead at the gender ultrasound and at this last appointment even though I wasn't quite 25 weeks yet the midwife said I was measuring 27 weeks! I'm hoping that's a good sign she won't be over due! If by chance Aydia decided to make her apperance now vs. waiting till full term she already has almost an 80% chance of survival. That just blows my mind considering that she still weighs less than 2 lbs and is about 14 inches long. For us, we've started taking a HypnoBirthing class and I'm enjoying it. We've had 2 out of the 5 classes so far. I'm very adamant on a natural, intervention and drug free birth and it's funny the responses I get to that. Women have been birthing for 1000s of years yet I hear from people how I'll NEVER make it without an epidural...right. I believe in the power of my own body, not to mention almost every woman in my family has gone drug free. With the HypnoBirthing, a midwife, a doula and hopefully a water birth I should be relatively comfortable during our labor and delivery. We have another ultrasound on November 26th so we're going to have them re-check the gender to make sure Aydia isn't a Gage. Then another midwife appointment December 3rd. Then I'm on to appointments every 2 weeks until week 36. Then it's every week from that point out. I can't believe how close things are! About 3 more months! And for fun, here's my most recent belly picture. She's growing in here! Believe it or not, I only weigh 1 lb more in the 25 week picture vs. the 5 week picture.
I figured you were being used as a punching bag by now ! :rotfl: Hope everything goes well for you too!
GAH! That's my biggest fear at this point. I've had several dreams where Aydia was born with an extra appendage! lol! I wanted a boy to begin with but now I'm so attached to this idea of having a little girl. I guess we'll get more confirmation on the 26th at that ultrasound. If this baby isn't a girl, then the baby boy will be named Gage.
LOL, alright! I've got a lot though so buckle up. Brief overview in case you don't want to read everything: I'm in the 3rd trimester! (YAY and Yikes!!!) She's still a girl! She's still VERY active most days! I'm still feeling great! I'm still measuirng 2 weeks ahead! Now for all the long details: Ultrasound was on 11/26: she's definitely still a girl! No little poker in site! Heart rate was 136 BPM, so she's nixing that's old wives tale of girls always being higher than 140! She was VERY active the whole ultrasound and was sucking on her thumb for most of it. We got to watch her opening and closing her eyes and mouth and even saw her tounge come out at one point. She's also in the perfect birthing position already, head down with her back toward my stomach. The tech was amazing. The tech didn't do any measurements on her since we were officially there to measure my cervix. She did measure fluid levels and all looks good there. She had measured my cervix within the first 5 minutes and then she spent a good 20 minutes just playing with the ultrasound and looking at our baby girl. My mom came with and was amazed at the details too, it was quite the experience for her! I had my 28 week appointment on Wednesday December 3rd. Things are looking good, Aydia's heartbeat is nice and solid in the mid-130 to low 140s. I'm also actually measuring 2 weeks ahead still. So even though I'm only 28 weeks my uterus is measuring 30 weeks! And as far as weight gain I'm only up 4 lbs so far! At this point all my appointments are now scheduled starting at 30 weeks until the week of my due date! I go every other week starting at 30 until 36 weeks and then once a week until 40 weeks. This pregnancy is just FLYING by! I also had a screen for gestational diabetes, also referred to as the 1 hour glucose tolerance test. Basically I drink a orange drink that tastes kind of like orange pop (Fanta for Josh) except that it has 50mg of glucose in it so it was quite a bit sweeter. An hour later they test my blood and it's supposed to be 140 or lower for blood sugar, otherwise they make you take the dreaded 3 hour test. The 1 hour isn't that bad of a test except it did make me lightheaded at the end because of the high concentration of sugar. Well I came in at 162 so I was forced to do the 3 hour GD test on the following morning. Luckily my mom came with as to be my driver and to help keep me entertained for those 3 hours. Brandon had to sleep since we had our HypnoBirthing class that night. With this test they take your blood 4 times at specific times after drinking a 100mg glucose drink (horribly sweet, but also tastes similar to orange pop). First can I just say how much it SUCKED to get your blood drawn 4 times in 3 hours! My poor arms, bruises on the inside of both of them now. Second, here are my results, I technically passed. This is what they want to see: Fasting: 85 or less 1 hour: 180 or less 2 hour: 155 or less 3 hour: 140 or less My results: Fasting: 72 1 hour: 173 2 hour: 188 (only one I failed...but by a lot!) 3 hour: 113 Since I failed one of the 4 it's possible they might have me retake the test in a few weeks, I'm not sure. The lab tech wasn't sure what they normally do in that case. You don't actually fail the test unless you fail 2 of the 4. I was so nervous waiting for that last blood draw. I was so happy to hear that last number come in! This means (for now) that I can still eat Christmas cookies this holiday season as I don't have gestational diabetes! I'm just praying they don't make me take the test again! In other news, Brandon and I were slightly concerned about Aydia the other day. A few Saturdays ago we went to the Mall of America for a good 5 hours. When we came back I was exhausted so I laid down and didn't feel her moving at all for a good 45 minutes. I drank some Mountain Dew, laid on my left side and Brandon talked to her in attempts to get her to wake up and move. Nothing for an hour except 3 tiny little taps. You're supposed to do "kick counts" at this stage where you should feel 10 kicks in an hour. We called labor and delivery and the midwife on call wasn't too concerned since I had been so active for a good period of time early. Plus the middle of the afternoon she's normally fairly quiet, but generally a little more active than she was that day. She said if I still wasn't feeling much in the evening, which is her normal active time, then I should call back and they would have me come back in for a check. She woke up later and made up for her inactivity on Saturday by being SUPER active all day Sunday. Because of our concern, our previous losses, and just because we obsess over our daughter already, we decided to rent a doppler for the next 3 months (or less!) in order to have some peace of mind. A doppler is the machine they use at an OB or a Midwife's office to listen to the heartbeat. It's a pretty cool little device and we're having a lot of fun listening to Aydia at least once a day. I think it keeps both of us sane and not paranoid. I still can't believe I'm in the 3rd trimester and we're getting so much closer to birth. I've honestly loved being pregnant so far and I think I'm going to miss it a bit! I think a BIG part of that has to do with how long it took us to get pregnant and our two losses before. It's made me really appreciate everything. Of course holding our little girl in my arms will be soooo much better than being pregnant! Our last HypnoBirthing class is tonight and we have a newborn basics class at the very beginning of February. Before we know it Aydia will be here! And of course pictures: The first one is direct on of her face, very detailed and hehe, slightly creepy if you don't like ultrasound pictures. The long bone in the middle of the ultrasound picture is her arm, her fingers on the right side. Her fingers are actually right to the direct right of her mouth, nose right above the fingers, eye to the above left of that. 2nd is pretty much her entire body, head is on the right. She does have her hand in/near her mouth in this picture but if you can find the nose you should be able to figure everything else out. 3rd, my most recent belly pictures. Still hard to believe I've only gained 4lbs.
Well you all can give Josh a hard time now, he replied to my status on facebook with her name in the comment! I got a phone call from someone else saying, "just so you know, your baby name is on facebook!" lol. It was up there for a half an hour before I got there to delete it...hopefully no one saw it, but Josh deserves a hard time for it now! Razz away team! Brief update as well, I'm just over 32 weeks pregnant and starting to feel very large! (see picture!) I'm only up about 10lbs from my pre-preg weight but feeling like I'm sticking out to far! Everyone seems to think I'm going to go about a week early, even Brandon is betting on 2/20 as the actual day vs. our due date of 2/27. I'm thinking 3/2 for some reason. Less than eight weeks till the due date now! Yikes! Oh, and we have another ultrasound on Thursday to check her growth! I'm very excited to see her again!
