LOL, funny Josh. I have a actual baby update now! I'm growing a monster! I'll be 33 weeks tomorrow and she's already measuring 35 weeks and about 5 lbs 7 oz. The average weight for babies at 33 weeks gestation is 4.23 lbs! The tech didn't give me an estimated length since she said she was so squished in there that it was hard to get that at this point, but did mention that she had really long legs. Everything about her was measuring 35 weeks, her head circumference, leg length (actually 36 weeks there), abdomen, and arms. Brandon is of course holding out that this means she's going to arrive early, which who knows, but I'm trying to not get my hopes up! Her heart rate was 132 which is good since she was sleeping the whole time, normally it's around 140 when she's awake. The whole time she also had her hand back up on her forhead and she's got some pretty chubby cheeks already! She does have Brandon's nose though, yay for that! Nice and small and round, not a big honker like mine!
You never know she might just be earlier than you thought. It would be silly of me to assume you're not baby ready yet are you? I mean diapers and bed and all that baby stuff!
We have quite a bit already actually, we had one shower on the 1st and got quite a few diapers, from newborn size to size 2. I have another shower this Sunday. We have quite a few clothes already and we have the crib and bedding set as well. We have a car seat and a snap n' go stroller for it too. Still some essentials that we need but most of the stuff we're good to go on. I know our due date is acurate, I know my ovulation date so there is no way she could be earlier in gestation age than 33 weeks. And at the first couple ultrasounds we had she was measuring right on track with the due date as well. She could arrive early, but I'm still not holding out hope! She'll be a tall girl, I'm 5'8 and Brandon is 6'1" and his family is all tall, and I'm actually one of the shorter of the female cousins on my side as well. She'll just be a model or a basketball player! lol!
How's about selling your kidneys? I got a nice sharp knife and big ol roofing hammer to knock you out with so we don't have to spend a lot on anaesthesia saving you even more money! :ducks:
Just popping by to see how everyone's getting on. It's been a while! Shana, I'm so excited for you!! Seeing all your pictures and hearing the news about your baby was lovely. The name you and Brandon picked is beautiful. How did you come up with it? I hope everything's still going great! It sounds (and looks) like your baby girl is going to be a real heartbreaker!
Wow Congrats! Happy for ya! and I do not even know you! lol But what you said made me feel empathy for your plight! Glad to see you are Preggers! i know God works in mysterious ways so be chuffed it's agirl! she may be Special ya know! not that she isn't already! or any other baby is not for that matter!
No I don't know him personally ! I just tend to annoy him is all! Shana what are you thinking about this lovely warm weather we've been having here in the midwest? :rotfl: :ducks:
Ha ha what? wait you lost me at shana! who's shana/ um hmm lol so you Love to annoy him eh? Lovely warm weather!aaah my kinda town! it's a bit breezy out now with a chance of rainfall but not a grey cloud insight and seems appealing today! see you SwMeek!
Shana is the person who is pregnant here. I was being sarcastic as the weather here in the Midwest has been below freezing here.
LMAO. I love how this is turning into a swmeek vs. Josh thread...hehe, cracks me up. swmeek...LOVIN the cold weather! lol! Not quite! I was so happy when it hit above zero here this weekend. Thursday and Friday were brutal, most of the schools in the area were closed because it was -47 windchill! muffin: Thanks! So good to see you pop in! I actually have loved the name Aydia since before I met Brandon. I originally got it from Sarah Mclachlan's song Adia, but wanted it spelled a bit more feminine so I added the y. I loved the sound of it and thought it was pretty without it being too out there but yet obviously unusual enough that she would likely be the only one in her class named that. At first Brandon didn't like it but it grew on him and now he loves it. Natal: Thanks for the congrats! Welcome to the forums as well! I've got a story to share...Aydia was thinking of making her entrance into this world just a bit early the other day. We stopped that pretty quick though! I was having irregular pains...didn't really feel like contractions, last Tuesday so I called my midwife, she wanted me to come in to get checked and monitored. Turns out I was having contractions, lots of them but not feeling a good 95% of them. They did a ultrasound on her and she passed all their requirements for a healthy baby (and there was NO question she's a girl at this ultrasound and she also already has hair!). I was given an IV in case I was dehydrated and also a shot to stop the contractions. After about 6 total hours I was back at home and really worn out. I slept for 13 hours the next night! I did have a midwife appointment since then and Aydia hasn't dropped at all and I'm not dilated either which is good news that she likely won't come early. Just kind of one of those weird things that happens. My midwife also commented that she doesn't feel like a big baby, but she does feel long. Just under 3 weeks and she'll no longer be considered a premie (37 week mark)! Yikes! This is really happening! We're hoping she holds out till February 10th as we have a newborn class on 2/9, which will put her at 37 weeks and 4 days. While I'm confident in taking care of a newborn, there are still things I don't know and Brandon has NEVER even changed a diaper, let alone been around a baby that tiny! So once we get back from our class that Monday night we'll be trying all the old wives tales to naturally induce labor!
