It is common that Seasons is one of the slowest expansion packs out there. Not sure if there is much you can do.

The other bad news is that TS2 was not written for multi-core processors (nor Vista) so it is likely that the game is running through only one of those 4 cores ... at 750 MHz  ... and since your awesome graphics cards rely on the cpu to feed them the raw data they need .... :(

Each individual core I believe runs at at 3.0GHz, Mirelly.

It would defeat the purpose of having multiple cores in a 3GHz Processor with each running at 750MHz each because essentially that's slower than having one giant processor 3GHz.

Ah ... well, I can't argue, but it wasn't how I understood the quoted clock speeds of multi-core processors.

However, this seems to make sense:

Not only that but now when i lowered everything to its minimum on options including resolution. It was exactly the same or even worse.

The question is what circumstances though too Mirelly. PC Games will run faster under certain conditions.

If it was an operating system not designed to handle or recognize multiple cores, then yes the performance would indeed suffer. It would probably just recognize it a single core and it will be chugging along doing its tasks like any older processor with a single core on there.

While there are additional cores to handle additional processing, they aren't being utilized to process information. Plus applications itself needs to be able to able to send things into multiple threads.

Teffy, at this point in time, my best suggestion is to run Sims 2 under Compatibility Mode in Vista. Locate the EXE file for Sims 2, right click the .exe file and select properties. Select the compatibility tab. From the drop down menu, select Windows XP (Service Pack 2). Click Apply and launch the game.

If that doesn't help, consider also revisiting the compatibility tab and disabling visual themes, and desktop composition. It's gonna be a hit and miss so you might have to fiddle around with the settings a bit to figure out what works for you the best.

If that doesn't help, come back and let us know.

Hmm sorry but what does that mean?

Basically it means that if switching to compatibility mode and setting it to Windows XP Service Pack 2 doesn't really help too much, go back to that compatibility tab where you set the compatibility mode to Windows XP and disable visual themes and/or desktop composition. I don't know one or the other or both will work better, so I'm recommending you try and see which settings you prefer.
