This happens to me! It takes ages (15 minutes) to load, and then when the taxi arrives all the Sim's moods are in bottom-red, and the game won't go on any speed other than fastest or pause. I posted a thread about it a while ago. Did Maxis say what caused it?

    Ghosts.

    Yes, there are.

Here's a list from SnootySims, explaining how each ghost arises after a particular death : http://www.snootysims.com/deaths.php

No. One of the TS1 expansion packs (can't remember which one) removed the whole phenomenon of light bulbs burning out, and thankfully they kept this convenience in TS2.

Besides ... how unlucky would you have to be to lose a whole family to light bulb electrocution? BuBu babe, face up to it! Your version of TS1 hated you ... ROFLMAO

On the Sims2, can a sim be killed by electrocution? I tried to kill my one sim by making him fix a TV with no mechanical skill, but all that happened was he got a shock and his comfort went down.

Yes. It may be due to just chance when a Sim gets a shock or whether they get enough to kill them, given that yours was very Mechanically unqualified and didn't die.

    suitemichelle Gramma's here!

I had a pregnant sim drop dead on the way downstairs to get something to eat. No notification or anything. And I was too late to get the kids to bargain with death and her husband was at work. so yeah, random death.

I've only had one Sim drop dead without warning and that was a pregnant Sim. I've read several times from different people about their pregnant Sims dropping dead for no reason. But it was right when I entered the lot. I entered the lot and as soon as it was loaded, there was the Grim Reaper! Her husband was able to save her, but it certainly caught me off guard.

It actually depends on a Sim's motives before they are shocked. Electrocution decreases every one of a Sim's motive levels by 50 points. If more 3 or more fall below -90 the Sim will die. So, if all of their needs are well in the green they won't die if shocked.

The repairman got electrocuted and after that he got skocked again and started a fire. Then he died and my teenager died and i was really upset becuase the last time I saved was before teh teen was born.

Crikey, Afro! Even without the occasional pause for micromanagment I make that 4 hours straight play! Don't you need to eat? I always set a save going whenever I get up to stretch my legs.

(Most health and safety specialist agree that computer users should take a 10 minute break from the console every hour. More breaks should be taken if mouse use is more or less constant. Believe me! RSI, carpal tunnel sysndrom or teno-sinovitis -- whatever you wanna call it -- ain't funny ... so give yaself a break, OK?
