Well put Nina. A feature like this wasnt completely unexpected with the cancellation of SimsVille, but overall its a great way to get feedback about your cities progress.
Having played the game, and messed around with this feature; I think that this isn't the "best" thing in the game. All they do is tell you if they've moved and if they've got a new job, but it can vary; such as commuting difficulties etc... But as in Sim City 3000, you have advisors to help you buld your city, who are animated like actual models similar to those in the Sims, which I think was a good idea.
I see. Well, maybe that also depends on how good you are in building your city from the beginning? i mean you guys have been playoing SC3000 a lot so.. Another haven't touch the games since the old SC2000 days in DOS-mode. :classic: or me this will be a real challenge when I get to it, that's for sure. *Droools*
