Sims 3 support dual GPU cards?

Hi I have a ATI 4870x2 card. When I play Sims 3 i notice that it only uses one of the GPU's on my card not both..... is this cause there is not support for x2 cards?

What driver set are you using ? Are you trying to play in crossfire mode?

swmeek I got your benevolent dictator pal!!

The 4870x2 is a dual gpu card isn't it ?
I'm pretty certain the game doesn't make use of Crossfire or SLI set-ups so a dual gpu card wouldn't be any different.
It would have been nice if they HAD coded the game to utilize dual/quad cpu's and dual card set-ups too but they didn't !

The other possibility is that the OP wanted to do dual screens? I'm still awaiting for clarification.

Ahhh so you want to have the game extend into the other screen. Probably won't happen as most games do not support extended screens.

no i dont want the game extended into the 2nd monitor what im trying to say even if i only have one moitor pluged into my graphics card which is a dual gpu graphics card sims 3 only uses one of the gpus not both ... other games that i play uses both gpus thats what im trying to say....

  8. swmeek

swmeek I got your benevolent dictator pal!!

Because the game is not coded to use the other gpu .
It's the same as with a dual core cpu it's only coded to use one core which is a shame.
It would be nice if they released a dual or quad core patch( for those people who have one) to where it would utilize the other (or more ) core(s) as the game would run a lot smoother throwing more of the workload out to the other core(s).

Patch? The game's core would have to be rewritten. :p
