All this talk of road trips reminds me of a trip I took with my daughter, just the two of us, out to Milwauki. She brought some of her tapes for us to listen to. One was Shakespears Sisters, probably Hormonally Yours, (looking it up in Wikipedia I recognize the album cover and the list of songs.) I just love those quirky songs, every one of them. I recall that while my daughter dozed, I listened to the tape as we headed west along an endlessly arrow-straight highway, into the sunset, surrounded by flat snowcovered fields (a February trip). The snow was colored by the sunset. No on else was on the road. It was incredibly beautiful and the Sisters music seemed to go with it, particularly, Hello.
Yes! Love it! Some of mine are, I Hate Myself for Loving You, Joan Jett Dashboard, Modest Mouse Stairway to Heaven, Led Zeppelin This is How a Heart Breaks, Rob Thomas We Didnt Start the Fire, Billy Joel Float On, Modest Mouse Cherry Pie, Warrant Invisible, Clay Aiken More Than a Feeling, Boston You Spin Me 'Round (Like a Record) ((forgot artist)) And there was one more by Eurythemics that I forgot the name of... I think it starts with M... hmm... this will bother me all night. Pretty old songs for a tween eh?
