Windows 7 is best.Because it has better features then the other. And Windows 7 is a vast improvement from Vista as it takes up much less ram and has other optimizations such as fast booting times. I recommend Windows 7, and if you really don't want vista and don't want to wait for the final version of Windows 7, you can download a copy of the Release Candidate from the Microsoft website for free and use it up till June of 2010. I am working with the Release Candidate right now and so far I have absolutely no complaints, considering Im a heavy computer use with advanced software.
You would be correct Steve. If you already have a copy, you can still install and activate it though.
I've been seeing sales of Windows 7-capable laptops, and they look pretty impressive! The thing, though, is the price and its actual capabilities since it will take some time for people to get to know the actual system (not to mention the possible bugs associated with it), and it may take a year to see if W7 actually is a better OS than Vista...
Haven't switched yet as I'm gonna milk out Windows XP for as long as I possibly can. I only messed with the beta when it came out for a short time but I actually did like it !
Running the retail version on my new system since, er, around the 4th I think. So far it's running perfectly but it's still early days. Sadly, no SSD yet in this build. =[ i5 750 @ 4GHz 8GB of RAM x2 1TB WD Blacks in RAID0
Haven't switched yet, but my laptop is qualified for Windows 7 Upgrade (although it's a sucky $120 at my local Best Buy -- uggh) that I want to get it up to date soon!
