And that's exactly what's gonna happen. And all others? women, children, old people?? And all US soldiers? What about them?

Well, unfortunately in wars people die, that is the sad reality of war but to say that we should never fight a war because of that, is to be forced into a position that allows dictators and other bullies to overrun and control another country. The fact is, to have peace in the world, one is forced to be strong and fight for one's beliefs...sometimes that means physically fighting for your beliefs...remember, all that is needed for evil to succeed is for the good to do nothing...the cost of peace is eternal vigilance...in history, democracy is but a fleeting moment in time and if it is not fought for, it will not last long. People tried capitulation and compromise with Hitler in the late 1930's and he continued his aggression and terror until he was physically fought and stopped...If Chamberlain (PM to England, at the time) had stood up to Hitler with force, WWII would have been averted as many of Hitler's generals would have quit supporting him...how do we not know the same is true of Saddam's generals...for the record, also, the people of Kuwait, Iraq's nearest neighbor, are 90% behind Bush as long as he ensures Saddam is deposed...remember the old adage, talk softly and carry a big stick...

I think this should be ending here now. I sense anger here. I have things i could come with, facts, pictures.. But I wont do it. Simply of the reason that we are friends here.
Don't let this war come in between us in here. This is a peaceful place where we can see something else. I still don't think it's right to kill innocent people because their leaders are nutheads. What if it had been the other way around? They were stronger than US and thought this way. What would you say then? ANd befire you brush that of. Think about it. Try to imagine you live under that threat.
Noone can imagine what a deathtreat is like to live under, if you haven't experienced. And I have. I know what it is to live under such a threat.

Well I'm sorry that you "sense" anger, because I'm not angry, I was merely trying to say that, while no one desires war (and I certainly don't), I also believe that sometimes a nation can be pushed into that position because all attempts at negotiation have failed. War should always be a last-ditch attempt not the first thing tried. I was just trying to point out that sometimes, one needs to show strength in order to stop someone from continually attacking. The US has been attacked several times now...at what point are they allowed to stop the attacker from hurting them? I am not angry that your opinion is different from mine...friends should feel free to disagree...I hope that you are not angry with me because all I am doing is stating the truth as I see it. Even the Bible says that a difference in opinions between friends is okay, "As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friends." Ps.27:17

Yes of course Solid. To have differences in viewpoints are natural. it would be really dull if we all thought the same. I'm not angry at you at all, or anyone else for that matter. The sense of anger comes from a more general view. Not specifically you. :classic: Thanks for clarifying a few points. Sometimes it's gets so much easier to misunderstand when you have different languages in the bottom. And that's not good.

Thanks for your reply and I agree that one of the problems with us communicating in English is often the wording and phrasing to a person who speaks it as a second language versus someone, like me, that speaks it from birth. Also, I find that typing is so restricting as to meaning and nuance...so much of our real-life communication is non-verbal, eg. body language, voice tone, etc.

I feel that Bush has done everything he can diplomatically. He's tried to gain the international support from the United Nations more than once.

Diplomacy between Iraq has been going on for 12 years now.

Iraq ousted weapons inspectors about 9 years ago

Bush Gave Saddam 48hrs to leave Iraq peacefully and war won't happen.

Honestly I think It is just Saddam.

As I stated earlier, I would prefer peace. Having said that, there are times that the options have run out, and there is no other choice. We can't let Saddam get away with what he has done. He was given chance after chance to comply, but has chosen not to do as asked. Even God has sent forth armies to take care of business. As a believer in the Bible, there is a time for everything.

I think it's safe to say that is a given, and for every action there is an equal reaction. For years now, the US has been sitting back waiting...trying only to step in and help when needed or asked for assistance by others.
I believe this to be the first occasion we have stepped to the front in order to hopefully accomplish something everyone only talks about, not solely for us ourselves, but, in an attempt to stop terrorism world wide. This would enable persons across the globe to sleep, travel as desired, work, and worship as they desire. The whole objective of this group is to ulimately control everyone/everything. They fight and/or die in the name of their god, and believe all who don't believe in their mission are against them and are to be exterminated by force as needed. Remember Hitler? Many thousands of innocent poeple died as a result of his actions. For the sake of many innocent victims world-wide who have died needlessly, many not even knowing why or by whom their lives were taken. All so a mad man could further his cause in secret. not willing to show himself, out of fear of retaliation by those who would have stopped him. I think it's time he pays.

Please remember, this is only my opinion, and I do not intend to offend anyone.

alright, my turn to put my two cents in again,

the war may have started, and at any rate it may go global and turn into world war three  but with that aside in my class we were having a discussion over this once more and we raised some interesting facts...

many of the muslim people see us(the US) as a Goddless people. this, we know, is a false statement but because of the way we dress, talk, act, we are considered that. the Us thinks of the Iraqee's in the same way for the same reasons and would like to "aide" them in becoming "goddly".

putting Iraq aside, this is a free country, yes, and we've fought countless times to keep our freedom, Bush is doing what he thinks is best for our free country to stay free, but if you "learn from the past" notice how all great "invincible" powers get conqured eventually, wonder when it'll be before the Us is conqured. i am a United States citizen and have been critized for not wanting the war to happen, heck, somebody already hates me for it. there is a great deal of opposition for this war, it may not be the best thing because..."we may win this war, but in the end result, there may be many more to come..." in short, we may win against the trany of Iraq but we are slowly making enimies in the middle east and other country's. It could, in the end, turn out that we loose the war instead of win it.
